Mark Meerschaert named University Distinguished Professor
Mark M. Meerschaert is the first member of our department to be honored as a University Distinguished Professor. His work includes probability models for pollution control, stock market prices, and invasive species, as well as statistical models for river flows, turbulence, temperature, and wind speed. Meerschaert was Chair of our department from 2006 to 2009, and is happy to count six current and former members of our department among his coauthors.
