Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Tenure System The Department of Statistics and Probability at Michigan State University (MSU) seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position in probability at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to begin in August 2025. Expertise areas of interest include, but are not limited to, high-dimensional probability, random matrix theory, random graphs, stochastic analysis, and stochastic processes. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research interests or expertise in the development of new theory/method either directly or with clear implications for applications. The successful candidate will develop and sustain a strong research program, provide high-quality education at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and engage in professional and institutional service.
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Tenure System Outstanding candidates are sought in areas of modern statistical theory and methods that align with high-impact, emerging societal challenges. Candidates shall demonstrate strong research potential or have a nationally recognized record of research excellence. Areas of interest include mathematical statistics and/or theory-driven methodology, with a preference for work interfacing with scientific applications. Areas of application may include but are not limited to: agricultural, environmental and climate sciences, genetic/genomic data analysis, image analysis, machine learning and deep learning, artificial intelligence, precision medicine and health outcomes, and physics and astronomy. We encourage applications from exceptional candidates in these research areas to apply, particularly for applicants who have or demonstrate the potential to establish an externally funded research program that contributes to the advancement of statistical knowledge and produces publications in top-tier journals.
