Chitrak Banerjee, PhD, awarded IMS Hannan Graduate Student Travel Award
Congratulations to Chitrak Banerjee, PhD, for being awarded the 2020 IMS Hannan Graduate Student Travel Award. This award is given to fund travel and registration to attend and possibly present a paper or a poster at an Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) sponsored or co-sponsored meeting.
Chitrak graduated with his PhD degree Spring Semester 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Lyudmila Sakhanenko. He plans on presenting a talk with the tentative title, Uncertainty Quantification in Neuroimaging using Minimax Principles, at the Joint Statistical Meetings to be held in Seattle on Aug. 7-12, 2021. JSM is the largest gathering of statisticians held in North America.
The travel awards are available to IMS members who are graduate students (seeking a Masters or Ph.D. degree) studying some area of statistical science or probability who have not yet received a PhD degree.
