Elijah Dikong, an fixed-term assistant professor in the Department of Statistics and Probability, was honored by the MSU College of Natural Science (NatSci) at the NatSci Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony, which annually recognizes NatSci faculty, staff and students for their achievements and contributions, was held on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB).

Dikong was one of four NatSci faculty to receive the Faculty Teaching Prize.

Faculty Teaching Prizes are made to fixed term and tenure system faculty and academic specialists in recognition of excellent teaching. Nominations are made by department chairs.

Dikong, who teaches STT 200: Statistical Methods, and STT 315: Intro Prob & Stat for Business, is the fifth faculty member from the department to receive the honor, and the first since 2023.

“Congratulations to Elijah for being honored by the College of Natural Science,” said Department of Statistics and Probability Chairperson Hao Zhang. “Elijah’s dedication to the department, the university and his students is inspiring, and it's wonderful to see his efforts being recognized with this award.”

The NatSci Awards Committee selects the faculty awards based on nominations submitted by departments and programs. Visit the NatSci website for a complete listing of awards and winners.
