Prof. Marianne Huebner wins world championship title in weightlifting, and helps international weightlifting federation with their statistical analyses

Prof. Marianne Huebner lifting weightProf. Marianne Huebner, STT faculty member and Director of MSU's CSTAT statistical consulting center, puts her strength and experience with numbers and weights to great effect. She won first place in the World Masters Championships for her age and body weight class, and the World Championships in August in Montreal, Canada. And for good measure, she wrote a peer-reviewed paper which the International Weightlifting Federation picked up to establish new rules for how to compare athletes' performances in competition. All this and more about Prof. Huebner's achievements were published on MSU's NatSci website here https://natsci.msu.edu/news/strength-in-numbers-weightlifting-professor-powers-up-her-research/ and was picked up by MSU's campus-wide newsletter Faculty Focus!
